Description
xThe LZR Ignite delivers all the racing benefits of moderate compression without the restrictive fit that can slow you down over a long meet. Compressive woven fabric, leg grippers and bonded dual-layer inner panels work together to give you the look and feel of a serious racing suit. You get genuine performance support without sacrificing freedom of movement.
Engineered specifically to feel comfortable across a full day of competition, whether you’re on the blocks or cheering teammates from the side. Flexible comfort straps are designed to reduce skin rubbing so the suit stays comfortable through multiple races and extended poolside sessions. It’s a suit that keeps pace with the demands of a real race meet, not just the warm-up.
The LZR Pulse fabric features a multi-directional stretch construction with a water-repellent finish that keeps water out and lets you glide through the pool at speed. The advanced water-repellent coating is designed to retain its shape and race-ready fit time after time. Tested and developed by swimmers to meet the needs of real swimmers, from fit to feel.

Yes. This suit has been fully approved by World Aquatics and is legal for use in all sanctioned competitive events.
No. The LZR Ignite is intended for competitive use only and is not recommended for training. Regular pool sessions will degrade the fabric and performance coatings significantly faster than race use alone.
Speedo racing suits fit differently from training suits and sizing can vary across styles. We recommend using our Speedo Fastskin LZR Ignite Kneesuit Size Guide to find your correct size before ordering.
The LZR Ignite is engineered for moderate compression, which means you get genuine racing benefits such as muscle support and a streamlined profile without the tight, restrictive fit of a high-compression suit. This makes it particularly well suited to swimmers competing across multiple events or a long race meet day.

Allens Swimwear is a family-run business founded in 1976 by Dennis Allen and his daughter Linda Beal. It started from a genuine need. “With 2 swimmers in the family it was often difficult to find the right kit, so dad and I took the plunge and started selling to local swimmers at our local pool in Kingsbury out of a suitcase and we’ve never looked back.” Today, Linda, her husband Richard, and three of their children Danny, Will and Jenna still run the business together. The suitcase may be long gone, but the founding principle of helping swimmers get the right kit remains exactly the same.

Key features include Flexible Comfort Straps designed to reduce skin rubbing for a comfortable and unrestricted fit during long race meets, compressive woven fabric, leg grippers, and bonded dual-layer inner panels that deliver the look and feel of a racing suit from box to blocks, advanced water-repellent coating to help you glide through the water at speed, and LZR Pulse multi-directional stretch fabric with a water-repellent finish for flexibility without compromising performance. To find your correct Speedo Fastskin LZR Ignite Openback Kneeskin size, use a soft measuring tape and take all measurements directly against your skin. The Body Loop measurement is particularly important for kneeskins — if you are on the larger end of your size, this will determine whether the Flexible Comfort Straps sit correctly on your shoulders without pulling.
Note: The LZR Ignite Kneeskin uses moderate compression and is designed to feel comfortable throughout a long race meet. It will feel firmer than a training suit but less restrictive than Speedo's maximum compression Fastskin suits such as the LZR Pure Intent 2.

Watch our step-by-step guide to taking accurate body measurements for the perfect Speedo Fastskin LZR Ignite Kneeskin fit.
Yes. The Speedo Fastskin LZR Ignite Openback Kneeskin is fully approved by World Aquatics (WA) and is legal for use in all sanctioned competitive swimming events, including club, county, national, and international competitions. Always check with your event organiser for any additional local or federation rules.
The LZR Ignite Kneeskin sits at a different point in Speedo's Fastskin LZR range. The Pure Intent 2 offers maximum compression with bonded ergonomic seams for elite sprint racing, and the Pure Valor 2 offers moderate compression with 6x more lasting water repellency for distance and multi-event swimmers. The LZR Ignite is designed for swimmers who want all the benefits of a racing kneeskin with a softer, more comfortable fit — making it ideal for long race meets, younger competitive swimmers stepping up to a tech suit, or those who want a race-legal kneeskin that can be worn comfortably throughout the whole competition day.
The LZR Ignite Kneeskin should feel firm and compressive but comfortable — noticeably tighter than a training suit but less restrictive than Speedo's maximum compression Fastskin suits. The Flexible Comfort Straps should sit flat across the shoulders with no pulling or rubbing, the leg grippers should hold the leg openings in place without digging in, and the suit should be completely wrinkle-free when correctly fitted. It is designed to be worn comfortably throughout a full day of competition.
We recommend selecting your size based on your body measurements — using your hip measurement as the primary guide. Speak to a member of staff at Allens if you are unsure.
The Body Loop is measured by running a soft tape measure over one shoulder, down the front of your body, under your crotch, and back up to the same shoulder. This measurement determines the torso length of the suit and is important for a kneeskin, as it determines whether the Flexible Comfort Straps will sit correctly on your shoulders without pulling or causing discomfort during a long race meet.
The Speedo Fastskin LZR Ignite Openback Kneeskin is suited to all competitive swimming events and all four strokes. It is particularly well suited to swimmers competing across multiple events in a day, or those attending long race meets where all-day comfort is as important as race performance. It is a popular choice for club and county-level competitive swimmers and those stepping up to a Fastskin racing kneeskin for the first time.
Yes. The Speedo Fastskin LZR Ignite Kneeskin is a popular choice for younger competitive swimmers stepping up to a Fastskin racing suit for the first time. Its moderate compression, Flexible Comfort Straps, and softer overall fit make it easier to put on and wear throughout a long competition day compared to maximum compression suits. It is World Aquatics approved and suitable for use in all sanctioned competitions.
The LZR Ignite Kneeskin is a competition racing suit and is not designed for regular training use. Using it for training will degrade the water-repellent coating and shorten the lifespan of the suit. For training, Speedo offer a wide range of endurance training swimsuits. Reserve the LZR Ignite Kneeskin for races and competition warm-ups to maintain its performance and durability.
Rinse the suit thoroughly in cold fresh water immediately after every use to remove chlorine and salt. Do not machine wash, tumble dry, iron, or dry-clean. Store the suit flat and dry, away from direct sunlight. Avoid contact with sun cream, fake tan, or petroleum-based products as these will degrade the water-repellent coating. The LZR Ignite is designed to retain its shape over time, but regular care after each use is essential to maximise the lifespan of the suit.
The LZR Ignite Kneeskin combines race-ready performance with all-day comfort. Key features include Flexible Comfort Straps that reduce skin rubbing for an unrestricted fit during long race meets; compressive woven fabric, leg grippers, and bonded dual-layer inner panels for a race suit look and feel; advanced water-repellent coating for speed through the water; LZR Pulse multi-directional stretch fabric with a water-repellent finish; and a durable construction designed to retain its shape for a race-ready fit time after time. It is tested and developed to meet the needs of real swimmers at every level of competition.
