Speedo Female HyperSpark Size Guide

This size guide covers the Speedo Fastskin HyperSpark Kneeskin — a World Aquatics approved and 12U Race Legal competition kneeskin available in both junior (sizes 18–24, ages 7–14) and adult (sizes 26–32) sizing. The HyperSpark is designed to offer fast and comfortable racing for swimmers at every level, from young competitors entering their first tech suit to adult club and county swimmers looking for a race-ready suit with a comfortable, unrestricted fit.

Built from 79% recycled nylon and 21% Lycra Xtra Life Elastane, the HyperSpark Kneeskin features flexible low-profile comfort straps that allow a full range of movement in the shoulders and arms, strategically placed dual lining to provide optimal range of motion and low-level compression for the core and legs, and flexible knitted fabric with flatlock seams designed for fast and comfortable racing. The open back style provides great freedom of movement throughout competition. All measurements are body measurements taken from your own body, not garment measurements.

How to Measure

To find the correct Speedo Fastskin HyperSpark Kneeskin size, use a soft measuring tape and take all measurements directly against the skin. For junior sizes, age is shown as a guide only — always use body measurements, as children develop at very different rates. Use the hip measurement as the primary guide.

  • C
Chest Measure across the fullest part of the chest, keeping the tape horizontal.
  • D
Waist Measure at the narrowest part of the natural waist.
  • B
Hip Measure at the widest part of the hips and seat, keeping the tape horizontal.

Note: For junior sizes (18–24), age ranges are a guide only. Always use body measurements to select the correct size. Adult sizes (26–32) are sized by body measurements only.

Fit Notes — Speedo Fastskin HyperSpark Kneeskin
  • The Speedo Fastskin HyperSpark Kneeskin is designed for fast and comfortable racing with low-level compression — it will feel firmer than a training suit but is designed to be comfortable throughout a full competition day, making it an excellent choice for junior swimmers and adult club competitors alike.
  • The HyperSpark is 12U Race Legal, meaning it is approved for use in under-12 competitions where some higher-compression Fastskin suits may not be permitted. Always check with your event organiser for specific rules.
  • If measurements fall across different size brackets, use the hip measurement as the primary guide, as the kneeskin needs to seat correctly over the hips before the rest of the suit can align properly.
  • For junior sizes (18–24), always use body measurements rather than age — children develop at very different rates and age alone is not a reliable indicator of the correct size.
  • The flexible low-profile comfort straps should sit flat across the shoulders with a full range of movement in the shoulders and arms — no pulling or twisting.
  • The flatlock seams should lie flat against the skin with no rubbing or pressure points. The flexible knitted fabric is designed to move with the body during racing.
  • The suit should be completely wrinkle-free when correctly fitted. Any bunching or gathering indicates the suit is too large.
  • The leg hems should end above the knee in line with WA regulations and feel snug but not restrict movement or blood flow.
  • Allow 10–15 minutes to try on correctly. Take care with fingernails and jewellery when pulling up the suit to protect the knitted fabric.
  • Do not use petroleum-based products, oils, or creams before putting on the suit — these degrade the water-repellent properties of the fabric.
  • Rinse in cold fresh water immediately after each use. Do not tumble dry, iron, or dry-clean.

Frequently Asked Questions — Speedo Fastskin HyperSpark Kneeskin

Yes. The Speedo Fastskin HyperSpark Kneeskin is fully approved by World Aquatics (WA) and is legal for use in all sanctioned competitive swimming events. It is also 12U Race Legal, meaning it is approved for use in competitions for swimmers under 12 years of age where certain higher-compression Fastskin suits may not be permitted. Always check with your event organiser or club for any local age group rules regarding tech suits in competition.

12U Race Legal means the suit has been certified as suitable for use in competitions for swimmers aged 12 and under, where stricter rules apply to the type of tech suit that can be worn. Some higher-compression Fastskin suits, such as the LZR Pure Intent 2 or LZR Pure Valor 2, may not be permitted in under-12 competitions at certain events. The HyperSpark's low-level compression and flexible knitted construction make it compliant for these events. Always verify with your event organiser before competition.

Yes. The Speedo Fastskin HyperSpark Kneeskin is available in both junior sizing (sizes 18–24, approximately ages 7–14) and adult sizing (sizes 26–32). Both ranges use the same technology and construction. Junior ages are a guide only — always use body measurements to select the correct size regardless of whether you are buying for a junior or adult swimmer.

Always select by body measurements. For junior sizes, the age ranges shown are a guide only — children develop at very different rates and age alone is not a reliable indicator of the correct size. Measure the chest, waist, and hip and compare to the sizing table above, using the hip measurement as the primary guide. Speak to a member of staff at Allens if you are unsure.

The HyperSpark Kneeskin should feel firm but comfortable — noticeably snugger than a training suit but without the high compression of suits like the LZR Pure Intent 2. The flexible low-profile comfort straps should allow a full range of shoulder movement with no pulling or rubbing, the flatlock seams should lie flat against the skin, and the suit should be completely wrinkle-free when correctly fitted. It is designed to be worn comfortably throughout a full day of competition.

The HyperSpark sits at the entry level of the Speedo Fastskin racing range. It uses a flexible knitted fabric with flatlock seams and low-level compression dual lining, making it the most comfortable and least restrictive of the Fastskin kneeskins. The LZR Ignite offers moderate compression with a softer Fastskin construction, while the LZR Pure Valor 2 and LZR Pure Intent 2 offer progressively higher compression with advanced water-repellent coatings for higher-level competition. The HyperSpark is also the only Fastskin kneeskin that is 12U Race Legal.

The Speedo Fastskin HyperSpark Kneeskin is suited to all competitive swimming events and all four strokes. It is ideal for junior swimmers competing at club and county level, adult swimmers entering tech suit competition for the first time, or any swimmer who wants a race-legal kneeskin with a comfortable fit that can be worn throughout a long competition day.

The HyperSpark Kneeskin is a competition racing suit and is not designed for regular training use. Using it for training will degrade the fabric and shorten the lifespan of the suit. For training, Speedo offer a wide range of junior and adult training swimsuits. Reserve the HyperSpark for races and competition warm-ups to maintain its performance and durability.

The main body of the Speedo Fastskin HyperSpark Kneeskin is made from 79% recycled nylon and 21% Lycra Xtra Life Elastane. The recycled nylon construction makes it a more sustainable choice without compromising on race performance. The flexible knitted fabric with flatlock seams is specifically designed for fast and comfortable racing across a full competition day.

Rinse the suit thoroughly in cold fresh water immediately after every use to remove chlorine and salt. Do not machine wash, tumble dry, iron, or dry-clean. Store the suit flat and dry, away from direct sunlight. Avoid contact with sun cream or petroleum-based products. Regular care after each use is essential to maximise the lifespan of the suit.
