This size guide covers the Speedo Fastskin LZR Pure Valor 2 Jammer — a World Aquatics approved men's competition racing jammer designed for distance swimmers and multi-eventers. Part of the elite Fastskin LZR range, the Pure Valor 2 features Lamoral® Space Tech coating for 6x more lasting water repellency than previous Valor models. All measurements are body measurements taken from your own body, not garment measurements. Measure yourself first using the guide below, then find your size in the table. How to Measure

To find your correct Speedo Fastskin LZR Pure Valor 2 Jammer size, use a soft measuring tape and take measurements directly against your skin. If you fall between two sizes, size down for maximum competition compression, or size up for easier donning.

  • A
Hip Measure around the fullest, widest part of your hips and seat, keeping the tape horizontal.
  • B
Waist Measure 6cm below the narrowest part of your natural waist, keeping the tape level all the way around.

Note: Fastskin racing jammers are designed to fit tightly — this is intentional and is part of the suit's performance compression. The suit will feel very firm upon first wear and will ease slightly with use.

Fit Notes — Speedo Fastskin LZR Pure Valor 2 Jammer
  • The Speedo Fastskin LZR Pure Valor 2 Jammer is a competition racing suit and is designed to fit significantly tighter than a training or leisure swimsuit. A snug, compressive fit is correct and intentional.
  • If your hip and waist measurements fall into different size brackets, use your hip measurement as the primary guide, as the jammer needs to seat comfortably over the hips.
  • The suit should be completely wrinkle-free when correctly fitted. Any bunching or excessive gathering indicates the suit is too large.
  • The waistband should sit flat and firm against the body with no roll or gap at the back.
  • The leg hems should end above the knee in line with WA regulations and feel snug but not restrict blood flow.
  • Allow up to 15–20 minutes to try on correctly.
  • Do not use petroleum-based products, oils, or creams before putting on the suit — these degrade the water-repellent coating.
  • Rinse in cold fresh water immediately after each use. Do not tumble dry, iron, or dry-clean.

Frequently Asked Questions — Speedo Fastskin LZR Pure Valor 2 Jammer

Yes. The Speedo Fastskin LZR Pure Valor 2 Jammer is fully approved by World Aquatics (WA) and is legal for use in all sanctioned competitive swimming events, including club, county, national, and international competitions. Always check with your event organiser for any additional local or federation rules.

Both suits are part of the Speedo Fastskin LZR range and share the same sizing. The LZR Pure Intent 2 is Speedo's flagship suit featuring maximum compression designed for elite sprint competition. The LZR Pure Valor 2 offers moderate compression and a more flexible construction, making it better suited to distance swimmers, multi-eventers, and those competing across multiple races in a session.

We recommend selecting your size based on your body measurements using the sizing table above — using your hip measurement as the primary guide. If you fall between two sizes, many competitive swimmers choose to size down for maximum compression and hydrodynamic benefit. If this is your first Fastskin suit, sizing to your measurements is the safest starting point. Speak to a member of staff at Allens if you are unsure.

Always use the plastic donning gloves provided in the box — fingernails and rings can permanently damage the Lamoral® water-repellent coating. Step into the jammer and work the fabric up gradually in small increments from ankles to hips. Do not tug sharply or pull from the waistband. The suit should be completely smooth and wrinkle-free when correctly positioned. Allow 15–20 minutes for a first fitting.

You need to measure two points: your hip and your waist. For your hip (A), measure around the fullest and widest part of your hips with a soft tape, keeping it horizontal. For your waist (B), measure 6cm below the narrowest part of your natural waist. Compare both to the sizing table above. If the two measurements suggest different sizes, use the hip measurement as the deciding factor. All measurements in the table are body measurements, not garment measurements.

Speedo Fastskin jammers are sized by body measurements, not standard clothing sizes. Always use the hip and waist measurements in the table above rather than your usual trouser or swimwear size. The suit will feel considerably tighter than a training swimsuit — this is normal and is a deliberate part of the suit's performance design.

No. The Speedo Fastskin LZR Pure Valor 2 is a competition-only racing suit. Using it for regular training will significantly shorten the lifespan of the suit and degrade the Lamoral® water-repellent coating. The Pure Valor 2 should be reserved exclusively for races and competition warm-ups. Speedo offer a separate range of endurance training jammers for regular pool use.

The LZR Pure Valor 2 features Lamoral® Space Tech coating that offers 6x more lasting water repellency than previous Valor models. To maximise longevity, rinse thoroughly in cold fresh water after every use, store flat and dry away from direct sunlight, and always use donning gloves. Do not tumble dry, iron, or dry-clean. Reserve the suit exclusively for competition use.

The Pure Valor 2 is designed for distance and multi-event competitive swimmers. Its moderate compression and flexible LZR construction make it particularly well-suited to events from 200m upwards in freestyle, backstroke, butterfly, and individual medley, where a full range of hip and leg movement is essential. Sprint specialists may prefer the higher compression of the LZR Pure Intent 2.

No. The Pure Valor 2 Jammer is designed specifically for pool competition. It offers no thermal insulation and is not designed for sea or salt water environments, which can accelerate degradation of the fabric and Lamoral® coating. For open water competition, a World Aquatics approved open water racing suit or wetsuit is recommended.
