How to Measure

Use a soft measuring tape and take all measurements directly against your skin. If you are between sizes, use your hip measurement as the primary guide.

  • A
ChestMeasure around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the tape horizontal and snug but not tight.
  • B
WaistMeasure at the narrowest part of your natural waist, keeping the tape level all the way around.
  • C
HipMeasure around the fullest part of your hips and seat, keeping the tape horizontal.
  • D
TorsoMeasure from the top of your shoulder, down the front of the body, under the crotch, and back up to the same shoulder point.

Note: If your measurements fall across different size brackets, use your hip measurement as the primary guide. All measurements are body measurements, not garment measurements.

Fit Notes — TYR Venzo, Avictor & Invictus Racing Kneeskin (Women's)
  • The TYR Venzo, Avictor and Invictus are elite competition racing kneeskins designed for a super tight, compressive, second-skin fit — they will feel extremely firm compared to a training swimsuit or standard racing kneeskin. This level of compression is intentional and engineered for maximum performance during racing.
  • If you are between sizes, use your hip measurement as the primary guide.
  • The Torso measurement is particularly important for kneeskins — if your torso sits at the top end of a size bracket, the suit may feel short in the body or the straps may pull on the shoulders. In this case, compare your torso to the next size up before making your decision.
  • The suit should be completely wrinkle-free and smooth when correctly fitted, with all seams lying flat against the skin and straps sitting flat on the shoulders with no pulling or twisting.
  • Allow 15–20 minutes to put on correctly for the first time. These suits are significantly tighter than standard racing kneeskins — take care with fingernails and jewellery and do not rush the process.
  • Do not use petroleum-based products, oils, or sun cream before putting on the suit — these degrade the fabric's performance properties.
  • These are elite competition suits and are not designed for training use. Reserve exclusively for races and competition warm-ups.
  • Rinse in cold fresh water immediately after every use. Do not machine wash, tumble dry, iron, or dry-clean.

Frequently Asked Questions — TYR Venzo, Avictor & Invictus Racing Kneeskin (Women's)

Take four body measurements — chest, waist, hip, and torso — using a soft tape measure against your skin. Compare to the sizing table above. If your measurements fall between two sizes, use your hip measurement as the primary guide. Always use body measurements rather than your usual clothing size to find the correct fit.

TYR describes the Venzo, Avictor and Invictus as having a super tight, compressive fit for maximum performance and a second-skin feel. These are elite competition suits and are significantly tighter than standard racing kneeskins or training swimsuits. They are designed for experienced competitive swimmers who are accustomed to high-compression racing suits. Allow 15–20 minutes to put the suit on correctly for the first time.

The torso measurement is very important for kneeskins as it determines how the suit fits through the body length and whether the straps will sit correctly on the shoulders without pulling. If your torso measurement sits at the top end of a size bracket, compare it to the next size up before making your decision. On elite compression suits where the fit is extremely close, even small differences in torso length can significantly affect comfort during a competition day.

The Venzo, Avictor and Invictus share the same sizing chart and are all elite competition racing kneeskins from TYR's top-tier performance range. They differ in fabric technology, construction, and price point. Speak to a member of staff at Allens Swimwear for guidance on which suit is best suited to your level, event type, and budget.

TYR explicitly recommend using the hip measurement as the primary guide when between sizes on their competition racing suits. A racing kneeskin must seat correctly over the hips before the rest of the suit can lie flat and the straps can sit correctly on the shoulders. If the suit is too small in the hip, it will be extremely difficult to pull on and may cause discomfort or restrict movement during racing.

TYR's elite racing kneeskins are designed for use in sanctioned competitive swimming events. Always check with your event organiser or governing body to confirm that the specific TYR kneeskin you have purchased is approved for the level of competition you are entering, as approval status can vary by product and event.

These are elite competition suits and are not designed for regular training use. Using them for training will significantly reduce their lifespan and degrade the performance properties of the fabric. Reserve exclusively for races and competition warm-ups. TYR offer a range of training swimsuits for everyday pool use — speak to a member of staff at Allens for recommendations.

Rinse the suit thoroughly in cold fresh water immediately after every use to remove chlorine and salt. Do not machine wash, tumble dry, iron, or dry-clean. Store flat and dry, away from direct sunlight. Avoid contact with sun cream, oils, or petroleum-based products as these degrade the fabric's performance properties. Careful handling after each use is essential to protect the suit's lifespan.

TYR's original sizing chart lists all measurements in inches. Centimetre equivalents are available in the sizing table above — simply toggle between inches and cm using the button above the table. Both sets of values are body measurements taken directly from your body, not garment measurements.
