Description
xThe Carbon Air² is built from one single piece of fabric, eliminating external seams for a truly hydrodynamic surface. This stitch-free exterior reduces drag in the water, giving you the cleanest possible profile at race pace. The seamless construction also makes the suit noticeably easier to pull on and peel off before and after competition.
Durable, lightweight Carbon Band technology is woven horizontally into the suit to provide gentle, targeted compression across key muscle groups. The result is a stabilising, activating effect that supports performance without sacrificing stretch or comfort. This mild compression is the defining feature of the Carbon series and sets the Air² apart from heavier, more restrictive race suits.
The three-panel internal lining works alongside the open-back design to reduce pressure in the chest area and encourage a wider range of motion. Less restriction in the upper body means a more efficient stroke cycle, particularly important for freestyle and butterfly swimmers. The combination of open back and multi-panel lining makes the Carbon Air² the most mobility-focused suit in the Carbon range.

The Carbon Air² is the most lightweight and least compressive suit in the Carbon range. Where other Carbon suits apply firmer compression across more of the body, the Air² uses horizontal carbon bands for mild, targeted muscle stabilisation and pairs this with a three-panel lining and open back to keep the chest and shoulders as free as possible. It suits swimmers who want carbon-band performance without heavy full-body compression.
Arena race suits are sized specifically and fit quite differently from training suits or standard clothing. We strongly recommend consulting the Arena Powerskin Carbon Air2 Womens Size Guide before ordering, paying close attention to Arena’s own measurements and any notes about race suit sizing.
Yes. The Powerskin Carbon Air² is approved by World Aquatics for use in sanctioned competitive events, so it can be worn at galas, club meets, and open competitions governed by World Aquatics rules.
Race suits require careful handling to preserve their technical properties. Please follow the guidance on our full product aftercare guide to get the most from your suit and protect the Carbon Band technology.

Allens Swimwear is a family-run business founded in 1976 by Dennis Allen and his daughter Linda Beal. It started from a genuine need. “With 2 swimmers in the family it was often difficult to find the right kit, so dad and I took the plunge and started selling to local swimmers at our local pool in Kingsbury out of a suitcase and we’ve never looked back.” Today, Linda, her husband Richard, and three of their children Danny, Will and Jenna still run the business together. The suitcase may be long gone, but the founding principle of helping swimmers get the right kit remains exactly the same.

Size chart
This size guide covers the Arena Powerskin Carbon Air² Women’s Racing Suit. The most lightweight of the Carbon series, the Carbon Air² features a stitch-free exterior for unmatched hydrodynamics and a single-piece construction that reduces pressure on the hip area while providing a second-skin feeling of comfort. The absence of multiple seams makes the suit easier to put on and take off compared to other technical suits.
Horizontal Carbon Band technology is woven into the suit to provide mild, targeted muscle compression that stabilises and activates key muscles without sacrificing comfort and flexibility. The three-panel internal lining combined with the open-back design reduces pressure in the chest area, allowing for a full range of motion in the upper body. All measurements are body measurements taken directly from your body. Use your Torso Loop (D) as the primary sizing guide.

If measurements fall between sizes, use the Torso Loop as the primary guide. Speak to a member of staff at Allens if you are unsure.

All measurements are body measurements, not garment measurements. Use the Torso Loop (D) as the primary sizing guide. Speak to a member of staff at Allens if you are unsure.
Watch our guide to measuring for the Arena Powerskin Carbon Air² Women's.
Measure your chest (A), waist (B), hip (C), and torso loop (D) using a soft tape measure directly against your skin. Use the Torso Loop as the primary guide and compare all measurements to the sizing table above. Speak to a member of staff at Allens if you are unsure.
The Torso Loop is measured by running a soft tape measure over one shoulder, down the front of the body, under the crotch, and back up to the same shoulder. This is the most important measurement for a racing suit as it determines how the suit sits across the shoulders and through the body.
If your measurements fall between two sizes, speak to a member of staff at Allens who will be happy to advise on the best fit for you. Arena racing suits are designed to fit closely — a suit that fits correctly should feel firm and supportive without restricting breathing or movement.
A tech suit should feel firm and compressive but wearable throughout a full competition day. It should be completely wrinkle-free when correctly fitted — any bunching or gathering indicates the suit is too large. The suit should feel tight but should not restrict breathing or cause pain. Seams and panels should lie flat with no rubbing or pressure points.
Arena racing suits are competition suits and are not designed for regular training use. Using a tech suit for training will degrade the fabric and reduce its lifespan significantly. Reserve it for races and competition warm-ups. Arena offer a wide range of training swimsuits for everyday pool use.
Rinse the suit in cold fresh water immediately after every use. Do not machine wash, tumble dry, iron, or dry-clean. Store flat and dry, away from direct sunlight. Avoid contact with sunscreen, oils, and petroleum-based products. Do not wring or twist the suit. Handle with care when putting on and taking off to protect the fabric.
Arena racing suit sizes (18–34) do not directly correspond to standard clothing sizes. Always use body measurements to select the correct Arena size. The international size equivalents shown in the table (France, USA/UK, Italy, Germany) are provided as a secondary reference — always prioritise body measurements.
Yes — the Arena Powerskin Carbon Air² meets FINA/World Aquatics specifications and is approved for use in all sanctioned competitive swimming events. Always check with your event organiser for any local rules regarding tech suits in competition. Speak to a member of staff at Allens if you need further guidance.
