Fit Notes — Maru Training Fins
  • Sizing is based on UK shoe size — use the table above to find your size. EU equivalents are shown as a secondary reference.
  • The fins are made from 100% high-grade silicone with a soft, flexible construction. They should fit snugly over the foot without pinching — if the fin feels tight, try the next size range up.
  • The short blade design encourages ankle flexibility and a more natural kick cadence compared to longer training fins, making them well suited to technique development sets.
  • Rinse in fresh water after every session and allow to dry naturally away from direct sunlight and heat.

Frequently Asked Questions — Maru Training Fins

Find your UK shoe size in the left column of the table above and use the corresponding EU size as a secondary check. The Training Fins do not use named sizes — you select directly by shoe size range. If your shoe size falls between two ranges, size up for a more comfortable fit.

Both fins are made from high-grade silicone and feature a short blade design. The main difference is in how they are sized: the Short Blade Fins use named sizes (XXS through XL), while the Training Fins use direct UK shoe size ranges with no named size label. Check the individual size guide for whichever fin you are purchasing to make sure you are selecting correctly.

Yes. The smallest size range starts at UK 12.5–1, which covers younger swimmers with smaller feet. Always select by shoe size rather than age, as foot size varies considerably between children of the same age.

Short blade fins encourage a faster kick cadence that is closer to natural swimming technique. They support ankle flexibility and help develop a more efficient kick action without creating the slower, wider kick pattern that can come from longer fins. They are well suited to technique-focused training sets and general conditioning work in the pool.

Rinse in cold fresh water after every session to remove chlorine, salt, and debris. Allow to dry naturally away from direct sunlight — do not store in a hot bag or leave in direct heat, as this can degrade the silicone over time. Store flat or hanging to keep the fins in shape.

If your shoe size sits between two ranges in the table, we recommend sizing up. The silicone material is flexible and a slightly larger fin is generally more comfortable to use than one that is too small. If you are unsure, contact our team and we will advise you.
