Speedo Aqua Gloves Size Guide

The Speedo Aqua Gloves are durable neoprene webbed gloves designed for aqua aerobics and resistance training sessions. The webbed design increases water resistance to improve upper body strength, while delivering a low-impact workout that minimises pressure on the joints. Sizing is based on palm width.

How to Measure

Use a soft tape measure and take all measurements directly against the skin.

  • 1
Palm Width Measure across the widest part of your palm, just below the knuckles, excluding the thumb. This is the primary sizing measurement.
  • 2
Glove Length (flat) The overall length of the glove measured flat from fingertip to wrist edge. Use this as a secondary check alongside palm width.
  • 3
Wrist Width (flat) The width of the glove at the wrist opening, measured flat. Use alongside palm width if you have a wider or narrower wrist.

If between sizes, size up for a more comfortable fit. Neoprene has a degree of stretch and will ease slightly with wear.

Fit Notes — Speedo Aqua Gloves
  • Size based on palm width as the primary measurement — measure across the widest part of your palm, just below the knuckles, excluding the thumb.
  • The gloves are made from neoprene, which has a degree of natural stretch and will ease slightly with wear. A snug fit when first putting them on is normal.
  • If between sizes, size up for a more comfortable fit with a fuller range of motion, or size down for a more compressive, secure feel during training.
  • The webbed design increases drag and resistance through the water. They are suitable for aqua aerobics and pool resistance training and are easier to put on than traditional hand paddles.
  • Rinse in cold fresh water after every session to remove chlorine and salt. Allow to dry naturally away from direct sunlight — do not tumble dry or leave in direct heat, as this can degrade the neoprene.

Measure across the widest part of your palm just below the knuckles, excluding the thumb, and match to the palm width column in the size table above. Use the flat length and wrist width measurements as a secondary check. If between sizes, size up for comfort.

Aqua gloves are worn like a glove and fit around the hand, whereas hand paddles strap over the palm and fingers. Aqua gloves are generally easier to put on and provide a less intense level of resistance, making them well suited to aqua aerobics and lower-impact resistance training. Hand paddles tend to provide more resistance and are more commonly used by competitive swimmers for stroke training.

The Speedo Aqua Gloves are designed primarily for aqua aerobics and resistance training rather than lap swimming. They can be used during pool resistance sets but are most effective in water-based fitness classes and low-impact training environments where the webbed resistance is used to work the upper body.

Yes. The Speedo Aqua Gloves are specifically designed to deliver a low-impact upper body workout that minimises loading on the joints. The water resistance provided by the webbing builds strength without the repetitive impact of land-based exercise, making them popular with swimmers and fitness participants who need to protect their joints during training.

Rinse thoroughly in cold fresh water after every session to remove chlorine and salt. Allow to air dry naturally away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Do not tumble dry, machine wash on a hot cycle, or leave compressed in a bag when wet, as this can cause the neoprene to deteriorate more quickly.
